The South Plains Section of the American Chemical Society and the Texas Tech Student Affiliate of the American Chemical Society hosted a “Chemistry Carnival” on Oct. 14 in front of the chemistry building on the TTU campus. Dr. John Gorden amazed the crowd with some exciting liquid nitrogen demonstrations. Students from the All Saints Episcopal High School Chemistry Club performed some modern alchemy, changing copper to “silver” to “gold” .
